Northwood United Methodist Church Hurricane Relief

With the Governor’s new Phase II

We can have up to 65 people for the service.

These are the guidelines we will be following:

  • You will be socially distanced.

  • You must wear masks.

  • We will continue with the virtual Facebook Live service.

  • The trustees will have cleaned and sanitized the sanctuary for the service.

  • There will be no Sunday School or nursery. The back hall and Granstaff will be closed off. The re-opening of these areas will be decided at a later date.

  • No offering will be taken during the service. There will be plates in the gathering area where you may deposit your offerings and tithes.

  • There will be no coffee or fellowship time.

  • The resumption of any of these things will have to be decided by the Board and Rev. Lars after she arrives.

We believe that it is prudent for our church to come back to corporate worship at this time. We have been following the guidance of “Do No Harm” since we have a majority of our worshipers who are over 65 years old and so many have underlying health conditions. We believe that the health concerns for our congregation are of utmost importance.

Live service we will continue the virtual online Facebook service. Right now, some of the

Bible studies are on Zoom. One group plans to resume meetings at the church and this is OK as long as there are 10 or fewer people and you must wear masks and keep social distancing. They will meet in the sanctuary.

The pandemic has instituted many changes. Our Annual Conference has been rescheduled for September 18-19 with an alternate date in November if necessary. The big General Conference has been moved from this May and will be held at the end of August -the first of September in 2021.

Please be praying for Rev. Sonya Lars and for the new direction and all that God wants to do at Northwood.
