“Moving Into God’s Future for Northwood”
Please pray about this for our church
and seek God’s guidance for yourself
and what part you will take in helping us in
“Moving Into God’s Future”.
Tuesday, March 17th, the following was adopted for Northwood United Methodist Church:
We have a plurality of worshipers who are age 70 or more and many of them have compromising health issues. We believe that we have a responsibility to protect them.
Therefore, all scheduled services, meetings, bible studies, prayer groups, activities, Lenten lunches, etc., will be canceled as of March 18th until further notice. Hopefully the goal will be to come back on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter services. This will be re-evaluated April 6th and everyone will be notified as to the decision then.
We do request that you please continue your giving to Northwood as we will still have financial obligations to meet.
We are looking into some sort of computer connection to which folks could “tune-in” on Facebook for devotional messages during the break.
Any visitation for the duration of the illness will be limited to “end-of-life” situations. The decision on resuming this will be made in accordance with hospitals and nursing homes and assisted living facilities opening back up to the public.
I hope everyone is doing well in our Northwood family. I miss seeing all of you. We WILL be back together!!!
A reminder of our calendar of events situation -
All church events and meetings continue to be canceled. At the Bishop's direction we are cancelling all of our Holy Week and Easter events - Maundy Thursday, Good Friday Prayer Vigil and Stations of the cross, Easter Sunrise service at the Gary's, and the morning worship on Easter Sunday. I am already working on plans for virtual communion on April 5th at 9:30 AM via Facebook live and also for Maundy Thursday at 6 PM. We will have the church open for prayer on Good Friday from 5 AM to 8 PM - no more than 10 at a time in the sanctuary and keeping your social distancing. We will have Easter Sunday service at 9:30 AM again by Facebook Live.
The time after Easter is up in the air. We will let you know as soon as we find out.
Continue to send prayer requests via Facebook to my personal account so I can pray with you and for you.
May the grace and peace and healing of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. AMEN!
